When Brendan was Lila's age he was not attached to anything in particular. He would pick random animals/toys to take to bed and didn't have just one he favored or needed for security.
Lila on the other hand has been obsessed with her seal since the first snuggle. Her seal was a random purchase from the Toledo Zoo marking her first visit. The seals were the only animal she looked at and the little stuffed seal was so white and fluffy.
Lila was 6 months old and since then her and Dee are like peanut butter and jelly! She carries Dee around with her all day long. It is panic mode if we cannot find Dee. Her Aunt "That" got us a second seal in case of emergency but it isn't the same. She is still fluffy and white while Dee is stinky and gray.

The name "Dee" is a new addition. We just called it seal, stinky seal, or Cecile. Lila one day a couple weeks ago started saying "Dee, Dee, Dee" and showed us her seal.

She now pretends Dee is a baby and will take it for walks in her stroller or feed it a bottle. It is fun to watch her progression of play as she is growing. Dee goes lots of places with us as well. Recently, Dee traveled to its "home" (Toledo Zoo) for my nephew's birthday.

Oh Lila, nothing is sweeter than you cuddling Dee when you are sleepy and sucking your thumb. So cute. Please stay little.
"Dee" When she is older you will have to put "Dee" in a shadow box and hang in her room.She is growing to fast. Enjoy the precious moments you have with her.
