And it pops out faster

My son gave me a hug yesterday and then proceeded to ask me the following question,

"Mommy you must be growing a baby in your belly.  It is getting bigger."

I told him I was eating too many cookies.  We haven't told the kids yet because they would tell everybody!  I wonder who else thinks I'm growing a baby with my big belly???  Since my oh so observant 6 year old just hit the nail on the head.

With Brendan I started wearing maternity pants around 18-20 weeks.
With Lila it was more like 11-12 weeks.

So far I'm still wearing my normal clothes at almost 9 weeks.  I can see a lot of flowy tops/outfits in my near future.

7 weeks
*I wrote this a couple of weeks ago and laughing at myself that I was popping out faster:)*

Here are 8, 9, and 10 week comparisons
 8 weeks
 9 weeks
10 weeks

I am currently 11 weeks and wore my first pair of maternity capris over the last couple days.  It has been cool and rainy and why wear something with a button when you have comfy elastic bands!

Pj day

Today we were blessed with a glorious rainy day.  An all-day soaker.  The rain was just swirling around the state of Michigan.  This day was so wonderful because we spent it in our pj's, ate popcorn for lunch, and took a nap on the couch.  Ok. Maybe I just took a nap on the couch.  My poor husband is going to embark a living room that looks like a tornado hit it when he gets home in 20 minutes.  Oh well.  I emptied and loaded the dishwasher and started the laundry.  That counts for something right?

Brendan and Lila were both so cuddly today and even argued whose cuddles I enjoyed the most and proceeded to try to sit on me.  Not so sweet to get jabbed on a full bladder with bony elbows and knees.

Thank you for your kind comments and congratulations.  The B6 helps with nausea which is something I'm experiencing again with this pregnancy.  I'm also craving Dr.Pepper which is strange because I don't drink pop all that often.  I had a bad bout of heartburn yesterday and then I thought about what I ate all day.  So today I made myself a strawberry/watermelon smoothie for snack.  I feel better I gave the baby some fruit today.  Not just Dr. Pepper, pizza, alfredo, and a milkshake.  Wow that sounds worse after I type it out.

Lila slept in until 10:40am and then took a nap from 3-5:45pm.  She'll probably be up until 10 now.

Mom hope your power stays on.

If I'm being honest

...my temper has been running short lately and I get frustrated easily.

...I'm finally starting to feel better.  Thank you B6 vitamins.

...why can't people be real?  Isn't it harder to put on a front and pretend?

...I need to do more fun stuff with the kids.

...sometimes you just need a good cry.

...we are expecting #3 and I don't want to tell everyone yet.  I'll say it on here because I think 2 people read this:)

...I would delete my facebook but I remember watching this show on CNN and you have to delete everything first.  It would just take too long.

...Instead I deleted about 25 people and hid a bunch of others.  It felt good.

...it was awkward running into someone this weekend that I hid on facebook.  I mean they don't know but I do.

...if you don't clean or do laundry then your husband will.  Try it.

...apparently some people are only there for you if it benefits their needs.

...the kids are watching a movie while I type this.  Does that count as fun stuff with the kids?

...I should start saying what I'm thinking more often.  I wonder how many people it would offend?

...I will just pray more instead.

What are you being honest about today?

How long can he scream?

So during dinner tonight, Brendan is being is normal slow-eating self and acting obnioxous.  I ask him to finish or he is done.  He's complaining he is hungry.  So eat!  This is a 30 minute process and Lila finds him hilarious so she starts acting up.  I finally tell him to leave the table and go to his room.

He yells and screams.  I ask him to put his pj's on and lay down for a few minutes.  He screams he's not going to bed.  I take his duck and tell him when he stops he can have it back and walk out of the room.

He does not listen and screams louder, slams his door, and throws a fit.  We ignore him.  He comes into the hallway and screams his nonsense.  I came downstairs to get away from it but his room is above our computer room so it is all I can hear.

Great and now he is calling "Mommy!" through the vent.  I need a better hiding spot and Supernanny.

Brendan's best evening

Birder Brendan had a special treat.  He loves to see how close he can get to our bird feeders before the birds fly away.  They usually take off as soon as he starts walking towards them.  This particular night he was given a little gift.  One of our regular visitors (the house finch) let us get up close and personal.

He's so loud most of the day.  I love when he is birding he knows to walk slow and stay quiet.  Lila has not mastered this skill.

He was hoping she would fly onto his outstretched arm.  She did not.

If only all our backyard birds would pose this nicely for a picture.  A fancy camera is not in our budget so we don't always get the best bird photographs.  Take note all birds and let us stand 2 feet away and get a nice picture.
Lila not mastering the quiet birding tricks.  She scared this poor girl to death by chasing it around and yelling,

"Birdie, Birdie, Birdie!  See Lila!!!"

The bird did not want to see Lila.
Brendan took this picture.  We weren't sure if she was hurt or not because she wasn't flying too high or too far.  After the kids traumatized observed the bird.  I told them we should leave her alone and see if she flies off.  Well not two minutes after we walked away, she happily flew away and was fine.  So thank you little finch for allowing us 15 minutes of your time.

Who are these kids?

The kids were treated to a surprise day with daddy on Saturday.  I had a Thirty-One party so he loaded them up and off they went.  He text me later that afternoon that the kids had been awesome.  I also made sure to send the camera with him so I could see their fun day.

All these pictures of smiling kids and Brendan being helpful to his sister.  I almost forgot they were mine.  Almost until I came across this picture.

Now these are my kids...

Big Year Update

Brendan was able to add a few more birds to his list in the last few weeks.  He is up to 62 different species since April 1st.

His latest additions are:

60. Indigo bunting.  We saw this little flash of blue while we were Up North with friends and even found some of his feathers while on a nature walk.

61. Pileated Woodpecker.  We heard his drumming loud and clear (also up north) and went on a nature walk to find it.  Unfortunately we couldn't get far enough off the path in the forest to locate it.  It was close by but the woods were just a little too thick for us to maneuver through.

62. Eastern Kingbird.  We just added this Wednesday while we were leaving Bald Mountain.  He sat atop the tall grass on the side of the road as we left the beach parking lot.

We have an unidentified bird sound that we heard and have not been able to figure out.  Brendan thinks it was an owl.  We listened to owl sounds and it doesn't match up with any.  I guess we still have some investigating to do!
